Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups 00 flour (or all-purpose)
- ⅓ cup + 1 tbsp sugar
- 7 tbsp white wine, plus more for dipping the cookies in
- 7 tbsp delicate olive oil, sunflower oil, or grapeseed oil (pick a flavorless oil)
- 1 tsp baking powder
Directions
Pour the sugar into a bowl and mix it with the wine. Then add the oil and stir, followed by the baking powder and flour. Continue mixing until the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. If it’s still too sticky, add just enough flour to transfer it to a work surface and knead until it becomes smooth and no longer sticks.
Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Cut the dough and shape it into strips about 6 inches long and roughly 0.75 inches thick. Wrap each strip around your index finger, then dip one side into the wine and then into the sugar. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 340 degrees for about 35 minutes.
